About Me

My name is Amy. I am 30 something am not married and childless, which does not bother me at all. I have a man that I love, I love children, but I am positive that I do not want them around me all the time.

I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 about 7 years ago. I have struggled my entire life with this illness and still do. The only differnce now is that I now know what is happening to me. I have wonderful medical and psychological care right now, and my medications are a good combination. I have to say that these days, even though I still go through the ups and downs, I am hopeful and I am learning how to recognize the signs of coming episodes and generally becoming more experienced in living with the disorder.

This blog is a combination of me expressing myself and clearing my head, sharing interesting information, and spreading awareness of mental health issues. I have particularly little patience for those who perpetuate stigma surrounding mental illness. This is a personal blog and I do hope you enjoy it.

    1. Hi Vic (I assume!) Thanks for getting in touch. I’ll be sure to stay connected. I don’t know about you, but I go through so many periods, sometimes long periods where I want to write and connect here but I find that I just can’t get myself motivated to do anything at all. The more people connected who understand the ups and downs is a good thing 🙂 I look forward to being in touch!
